After graduating from the IAE Aix-en-Provence Graduate School of Management and the Aix-Marseilles Photography and Film Institute, Olivier’s career in communications began at the Havas group. Pursuing a newfound interest in design, he then joined the TBWA group, first as its Development Director and later as its Deputy CEO. Foreseeing the increasing power of globalisation, he joined forces with Karine Godo to create Sémantis in 1990.

Karine received her university postgraduate degree from ESIT, a prestigious university specialising in translation and interpreting, as well as a degree in teaching French as a foreign language. Passionate about cosmetics, she joined Parfums Christian Dior in 1986, first in its R&D division and later in its export division. In 1989, she helped launch Parfums Christian Lacroix, part of the LVMH group. She left in 1990 to found Sémantis.
